James Martin
Co-Investigator, Northumbria University
Prof. James Martin is a geophysicist with extensive research experience, particularly in physical and chemical measurement systems, signal fidelity and its impact on subsequent data interpretation. He has extensive signal processing and data analysis expertise, including the development and characterisation of fibre optic sensor measurement systems. James has contributed to the invention of over 109 patent families, mainly within the geophysics and measurement spheres and is currently working to develop geotechnical surveying methods.
James’ contributions has been recognised by being awarded the international Virgil Kauffman Gold Medal in 1999 by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
